Brown Booby Sula leucogaster (1)
(1) Almeria On 3.7 a subadult bird was seen at close range at Roquetas de Mar, Almería (Brad Carlson). The author reports: I have been doing some sea watches the last couple of days, and 2 days ago I had a sub-adult Brown Booby flying west past Roquetas de Mar. I had
expected a Northern Gannet since I saw a few of those at Cabo de Gata, but I was surprised to see the bright yellow bill and square near-white belly. I have lots of experience with both species, so no I'D issues. The bird was also at close range.
